Last minute thanksgiving for 3

Any ideas where to buy? Our plans fell through and would still like to do a small thanksgiving meal, but without the ordeal of the big meal.

A turkey breast will feed three and can be roasted quickly and easily. NYT and WaPo have plenty of recipes for small-scale Thanksgiving sides-- I saw one just this morning for stuffing for two. Alternatively, you can buy delicious sides at Balducci's. Enjoy your chill Thanksgiving!

If you like the traditional food, get a turkey breast and just pick 2 sides to make. But a premade pie.

I would love to get Thai food and a good pie. Eat whatever makes you happy.

If you can find them, get Cornish hens. If you can’t, don’t get a turkey breast unless you know that everyone likes white meat.

One year I did salmon, dressing, yams, and greens with smoked turkey. I can’t remember the dessert, but it might have been eggnog panne cotta. I cooked the yams and the greens the day before.

But you can go as non-traditional as you want. Lasagna, crab cakes, short ribs — whatever everyone likes.

If there is a Boston Market near you, you can usually get a Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings with very little advance notice, especially for just a few people.

I've done this for a last minute Thanksgiving feast and it worked when plans changed last minute.

This is the recipe I start from for two (of course there are plenty of leftovers).

Above if you want to go out/pick up--whatever works for you.

If I were cooking last minute for 3, I'd do a roast chicken with lemons, cranberry sauce from the recipe on the bag, some form of potatoes, and sheet pan roasted vegetables. Homemade or Costco apple pie.

This is basically what we do - chicken (we prefer dark meat so we would rather do this than turkey breast), mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, roasted vegetables and a sweet potato/carrot dish. We buy the pies.

For only 3 people, I’d go to Whole Foods and buy the items from the pre-prepared food area (I’m sure it is too late to order from the catering dept but you could ask, you never know). I was just there today and you could make a nice thanksgiving meal from the prepared foods area including they had roast turkey, so long as you are fine with it in pieces. The only item I recall missing from that counter was stuffing and you could just buy a box or the dried bread cubes to make it yourself.

Peruvian chicken joint and pint of ice cream.

Guys a lot of restaurants are closed on Thanksgiving. I learned this the hard way in 2020 when I didn’t want to cook and assumed we could just get Chinese the way we do on Christmas Eve. No. They’re closed because the vast majority of people cook at home for Thanksgiving. It’s too late for the places that take reservations but the places you’re all suggesting (Thai, Peruvian chicken) probably won’t be open. So OP needs to get a premade dinner somewhere today, or plan to cook, or settle for fast food. Other restaurants and takeout won’t be an option.
