Is Ruvati a decent kitchen sink?

I'm looking for a stainless steel undermount kitchen sink, preferably with an offset drain, sloped bottom, and at least 32". Was looking at Blanco, but I guess they only do 18 gauge stainless steel and I'd like a better quality. Ruvati does 16 gauge but I haven't heard much about them, and they are noticeably cheaper - are they a decent brand? https://www.build.com/product/s1793386?uid=4238836

Elkay also has some models that fit these specs. Rohl and Nantucket Sinks do, too, but are much more expensive (I'm willing to pay $$$ if it's worth it, but my understanding is that it's not?). Kohler doesn't seem to have offset drains.

i installed one a few months ago. it came with the all the accessories, and they seem to be great quality. build.com/ruvati-rvh8309/s1558019

when i was looking at sinks, i was at a loss as to why they cost so much. the big brand names just appear to be weirdly overpriced.

the ruvati was reasonably priced, and so far, no issues...and an always telling indication was that there was no moaning about it by the plumber or contractor.

i've had my ruvati workstation sink in place since 2018, still love it. don't use the accessories much, so definitely glad i didn't pay for the kohler stages!

Unfortunately, the $799.00 39” workstation sink is a major expensive disappointment. After our kitchen remodel was completed and the sink was installed in July, 2023 the water spots were a continuous battle and impossible to remove. They’re getting worse. I question if their stainless steel sink is actually 16 gauge. It scratches very easily and it stains. Pin size rust spots are starting to form in the corners. I use a cotton QTip to make sure to dry out the water from each corner. I also purchased a Ruvati bar sink that was installed at the same time, has held up only a little better than our kitchen sink. But, not great! I I regret investing the money into these two sinks. BTW, If you see a notation “hurry and order, only 8 left in stock”, . Or, whatever. Ignore! Continue to research this product before you end up in the same position as I am DISAPPOINTED!!!!

The similar sinks I'm looking at run over 2K. I was wondering if the Ruvati prices were too good to be true.

We chose Kraus sinks - we were steered toward them by a builder friend who put them in his own home and said Kohler is not worth the price. They haven’t been installed yet, so I can’t yet comment on their quality.

I put this one in and it is fine. My designer recommended one that was kohler and over $1100 and I am prefectly happy with this one. I did a Brizno faucet.

Anyone have a Rohl?

I’m not defending the brand, but all stainless steel sinks will scratch. The first one or two look terrible, but then the scratches accumulate until you get sort of a patina from all the scratches. If you look at a stainless steel counter or your stainless mixing bowl, you will see endless scratches. The things we put into the sink are often as hard or harder than stainless steel, thus the scratches.

As for the rust, technically stainless steel can rust, but usually rust spots in the sink are from a different source- metal utensils or pans that oxidize with water.

You can try to passivate the stainless steel by letting it sit in a paste of barkeeper’s friend for 15 minutes and then rinsing out to prevent rust spots.

This is helpful - maybe the Ruvati would be fine. Is there a sink that you like?
