| I am looking for an AC Moore/ Michaels type of store that is accessible via metro. And not a long walk. Can anyone please advise? Thanks!!! |
Don't know how far into the 'burbs you're willing to trek or if you have anything against Rockville , but there is a Michaels within walking distance of Twinbrook metro.
The exact address is 1509 Rockville Pike,Rockville, MD |
| I was also thinking about the Rockville store. Maybe it's slightly closer to the White Flint metro? |
| OP here. Is the walk from the metro safe? (Not on the highway)? Is it a long walk? Thanks again for the info! |

Twinbrook is the closest.
Get off the metro, walk across the parking lot and to the Pike (5 minutes), then cross the Pike and start walking north (I believe it will be to your right). The first shopping development on your left will be called Congressional Plaza, you need to walk by it to the next shopping center where you'll see Bed,Bath and Beyond, Petco and Michaels. I'd say it should take around 10 minutes walking along the Pike, and there's a pavement there, so it's safe to walk. Good luck! |
| OP here. Thanks so much! Very helpful. |
| That area isn't very pedestrian friendly. I'm not sure if there are sidewalks.... |
|
There are sidewalks, and crosswalks at all major intersections in that area.
Depending on what kind of craft supplies you need, there is also a Pla-aza, or some such, near the Bethesda metro, as well as Bruce Variety and Strosniders HArdware, which will have a lot of crafty stuff. |
| are you orange line convenient? You could walk to the Michaels at the Pan Am Shopping Center. It's about 0.5 mile - on sidewalk - from the Vienna metro. (I've walked to that shopping center from metro before and it's safe.) |

OP, not sure of your time frame but you can also order craft supplies on the internet, Oriental Trading has great prices.
Are there particular types of craft items you are looking for? Non-craft stores like Target (Columbia Heights metro) carry a lot of the same stuff. |
