Do you ever like gifts others pick out for you?

I find it funny when people say “oh they loved my gift!” I think others are very hard to shop for, and I usually don’t like anything people randomly get me.

It depends. If people don't know you, they give lousy gifts. If they know you but don't put thought into it, the gifts might be so-so or bad.

Nope. Even my husband who tries so hard misses the mark 90% of the time.

Adult gifts are silly.

Yes, but not very often. I'm always grateful because it's nice to be thought of, but it's usually not anything better than I could get myself off a 10-minute Amazon search.

Gift-giving is my thing, not receiving. I am a *very* good gift-giver, though, and frequently blow people's minds by getting them something they love but never knew they needed. This is a gift to myself too because I live for the reaction.

I do normally. For Dh, I sometimes just give him stuff to give me. Like I have some jewelry coming that I had made, I’ll hand them to him and I won’t see them before Christmas. That way it’s still a surprise.

I think for most adults - they can usually afford to purchase whatever they want for themselves.

I like receiving gifts 🎁 as I like the thought that was put into it.

I rarely will dislike a gift.
Even if it was re-gifted to me!

Agree...the things I want I usually just buy. I am not a person who wants lots of things. Most gifts are not things I really want (though I appreciate the thought very much)
I also find it amusing to hear people say how much X loved the gift. Of course people will tell you it's great even if it's going straight to the donate pile.

No, never. My mom always made it clear she didn't like the gifts we gave her as kids. And I'm trying to be better with my kids.

These days, I only get gifts from DH. By his own admission, he's not a great gift-giver, so he usually just asks me what I want, I provide a link, and he buys it. Easy peasy.

Honestly, not really. My mom tries so hard but buys such random stuff it's never really a hit. My husband doesnt really buy stuff on his own accord, so it's a list.

I'd rather just buy myself whatever I want throughout the year.
