Hi, everyone,
We have a teenager and really would like to get away for Thanksgiving but have not been able to plan ahead. ![]() We moved to the area right before COVID and then some dire family situation prohibited us from traveling or doing much with our child. We're only now trying to plan for holiday travel and for Thanksgiving, wanted to go to Richmond, since we have never been and we think it would be great. (We've been to Kingsmill, but that's all.) I did some research here on all the great recommendations (thanks for all the OPs and PPs for not deleting!) but couldn't find any hotel information other than Jefferson (a few responses). Is Jefferson the only(?) recommended hotel? Maybe this is such terrible planning and we won't be able to book anything for this coming week, but we would like a hotel with an indoor pool and good restaurants; a huge plus if they do anything special for Thanksgiving. Any advice would be so appreciated. Thank you, DCUM! |
Kingsmill is in Williamsburg.
The Jefferson is honestly the only nice hotel in Richmond that has an indoor pool. I would stay at the Quirk. |
I stayed at the Marriott recently. It was fine. |
OP here. Thank you! Jefferson is fully booked, so we will try Quirk.
PP, yes, I meant Kingsmill is the only place we've been to in the area. |
I would suggest Charlottesville instead of Richmond.... |
+1 on the Quirk |
Quirk is awesome |
Another vote for quirk |
Jefferson or Quirk - not sure if Quirk has a pool. We liked the Linden Row Inn, no pool. |
I like the Omni Richmond. Nice indoor pool in my opinion. |
See if you can get a pool day in by using resortpass.com.
I too would stay at Quirk. There is a cool old school arcade in Scotts Addition. |
Williamsburg is nicer for the holidays than Richmond. Downtown Richmond can be a little sketchy. When we visit family in Richmond, we sometimes stay near them on points or out at Short Pump Shopping Center at the Hyatt House (restaurants and shops right outside your door): https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g10413612-d1238207-Reviews-Hyatt_House_Richmond_Short_Pump-Henrico_Virginia.html. It's good if you don't need downtown access or resort amenities, say for a Christmas shopping trip. |
Quirk then maybe linden row inn. The graduate is ok but not great… |
