Mazda CX 5 vs Subaru Forester

We have a 2018 Forester now and looking to replace ( selling it to our kid)

We were planning to just replace with a newer Forester, but the Mazda CX 5 looks pretty good too.

Any feedback for either of these vehicles?

Both good cars, selling for about the same price. OP, you can’t lose with these - go take a test drive and buy the one you like driving the most.

My son just bought a forester and we have a CRV, I was quite impressed with the Forester.

Lock up torque converter clutch in my 18 Forester is on the way out at 83,000 miles.

That is some bullsh!t.

Thanks everyone, OP here. Sorry to hear about the issues with torque converter clutch with the Forester—that’s awful.

I appreciate the feedback/- test drove the Forester today and will look at the Mazda tomorrow.

I have a Mazda cx-5 and love it. She has 125k on her and no significant issues yet, knock on wood. Drives great, compact yet enough space for my needs.
