Football game in PG county - safe or safer

Our high school football team is playing in PG county. Do the PG schools have the same amount of security at football games as MC? Should we expect some scrapping?

It’s a big county, OP. Which schools will be playing? And I gotta say…the only schools with safety concerns around football games have been in MoCo, not PG. I’m not sure I feel safe coming to your neighborhood!

Depends on where in PG. I used to work in Suitland, and my black assistant (I’m white) told me I wasn’t allowed to go out to lunch or shop without her. Security also wouldn’t let me walk out to my car alone.

PG county school football games are not nearly as dangerous as Montgomery county football games.

Upper Malboro is safer and pg overall is not that bad except the Suitland, Bladensburg areas in the southeast.

This is the Suitland PP. I would think Upper Marlboro is just as safe (if not safer) as Silver Spring, and my kids go to all MCPS football games. I wouldn’t worry.

You will be totally fine there. There are actually VERY affluent areas in PG. It’s not like most people think.

There are some areas (Kentland, suitland, Seat Pleasant areas) that are best to avoid at night though.

Dr. Wise High School is surburbia as it gets. Agreed not all PG is ghetto as a few think unfortunately.

I’ve lived in PG and MoCo. You’ll be fine at the PG schools. Actually, I think PG handles crime a lot better than MoCo does, to be honest.

We played a game in Virginia this year and the moco fans were the ones causing the problems including 4 boys in a stall . Can't thi know any reason for this other than doing drugs. The Virginia parents were shocked and felt I should go make them leave. I thought to myself, "what kid of world do these people live in where they think parents can go tell students what to do?" It was like living in the past.
Montgomery County is definitely the problem area. If you're street smart enough to make it through a football or basketball game here you're fine anywhere

What school in MoCo plays game in VA?

What a strange question. The only violence we've heard about at sports games in the area this season has been in Bethesda
