Mooses attack more people than bears

I've been coached about how to avoid getting attacked by bears, wolves, etc. Imagine my surprise when I was recently in a discussion with colleagues about the scourge of sociopathic killer kangaroos and one of them explained that moose are responsible for more attacks against humans in North America than bears and wolves COMBINED. Obviously people are trying to lull us into moose complacency. But why? Discuss.

uh your friends are idiots. i just googled this. moose attacks are, as I had assumed, are extremely rare. What are the trigger warnings for A Little Life?
TW: sexual abuse, child sexual abuse, scary verbal abuse, psychological manipulation and gaslighting, kidnapping/imprisonment, many modes of self-harm, a violent accident, a few moments of prejudice against the disabled, drug use, addiction, grief and loss of a loved one.

separate out the comment about Moose attacks from TWs about "A little life" but in general avoid both! lol

I looked it up too and found a mix of "no worries about these sweet horned relatives of the kindly deer" and this warning from the state of Alaska that they are actually ferocious beasts responsible for more attacks than bears and wolves; https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm%3Fadfg%3Dlivewith.aggressivemoose#:~:text=While%20moose%20are%20generally%20perceived,circumstances%2C%20they%20can%20become%20aggressive.

If moose kill more people, it's from cars hitting them: in moose v. car, the driver loses. Just like deer have a high murder rate because of car collisions.

I understand that in Australia, hitting a kangaroo with your car is similarly common and fatal.

Yes, during my internet research, I discovered that deer + mooses (meese?) account for $10B in damages to humans per year, largely due to attacking cars.
