Our company had Fall gala that was a big, fancy party- raw bar, open bar, shuttles home, office closed the next day, etc. It included a swag bag for everybody based on our stellar year. Among the very generous things in the bag were customized, logoed, Patagonia down jackets and a customized Patagonia fleece. Because we are a smallish company (40 people) they only ordered the jackets in Mens medium and large and Womens small and medium, which means 5 of us got nothing.
That's weird, right? |
| Sounds like an admin error, not an intended oversight |
|
They didn't get anything or you got it but it doesn't fit?
If the former, that's not right; if the latter then that's fine - just give it to someone you know who it would fit. |
| Yes, sounds like admin oversight. Were there enough for every person (just not in the right size)? I would honestly ask the admin how to get the jacket in an appropriate size. My company likes to give out swag and then do a group picture of everyone wearing the item and I'm always anxious that there will be no option big enough for me (plus sized). |
|
I'm guessing you are a women's XS and nothing fit. Been there. It sucks, but no one cares about size inclusivity on that end of the range. They'll say "that's a good problem to have" and move one.
You just have to suck it up. |
| You shouldn't get people clothes unless you're willing to get their size. There are so many other options for corporate gifts. |
| Patagonia is nice but anything w/ a company logo is trashy/tacky so no big loss. So if both the down jacket and fleece had logos, consider that they did you a favor. |

I've ordered custom swag before and always gathered sizing beforehand and ordered the exact sizes of what we need, including under 50 qty.
That's really sh*tty for you. |
| If those who were left out are all larger sized individuals, I would be very concerned. What size are you OP? |
| I would just email admin and say like, the new jackets look great! I’m a size (whatever), let me know if you need any other info to order my jacket, thanks! |
| I hate logowear. It’s such a waste of resources. |
| The size of the company shouldn’t have anything to do with the sizes they ordered. Patagonia doesn’t have a standard set of sizes they offer with corporate orders that is more limited for small orders. Someone chose those sizes. |
| I agree with everyone else that this was an admin error. But at our company we did have one employee left out of getting a company shirt because he needed a 5XL and the supplier only went up to 3XL. I felt badly but I think he expected it, or at least recognized it was within the realm of possibility. |
Logos are a piece of cake to remove. I have a bunch of high quality Carharrt stuff that I de-logoed when I worked for a big builder. You'd never know it was customized. |
| Can you take one of the men's size L? Or did they not have enough? |
