| Looking for an inclusive environment with my child who has some special needs. |
| McLean does have K-8. Not understanding your question. |

| OP here. I am looking for an inclusive school that can support my dd with ADHD and other learning challenges and that mirrors the programming of Mclean but is K-8 instead of K-12. I want some other choices. Any thoughts? |
| newton is k-8 |
| Oakwood is fantastic and is K-8 |
| Op here: Thank you! |
| Any school in DC or MD? |
| Oakwood. I’d post on the Speical Needs forum for more info. |
| Seconding both Oakwood and Newton. Great options. |
| What about Sycamore? |
So you are saying you are looking for a partial SN school like the Mclean School in Potomac, MD, not the Potomac School in Mclean, right? But only k-8. That is difficult. DD went to the McLean School in Potomac for middle school But if your kid's diagnosis is average to gifted IQ you want to look at Commonwealth Academy in Alexandria. I didn't find it until after DD left the McLean School. It really turned my ADHD DS around. Good luck. |
^ I meant to say, average to gifted I.Q. and ADHD. That is the mission statement of C/A. Good luck! School searches can b maddening. |
My thought is you send your child to McLean until grade 8. A lot of kids transfer in at ninth and transfer out at eight |
FWIW we did this. DC was there for six years, left to enter a Nova public in freshman year. worked for us. But I know some "lifers" in DC's class who stayed through high school there. |
