period?

I need to have the day 3 bloodwork done, and having trouble figuring out when exactly my period starts.
Monday I was 9dpo and barely spotted brown once in the day, but had lower back pain all day, and was 99% sure my period would start Tuesday. My temperature dropped just barely above coverline on Tuesday, and a little more spotting when I wiped (twice all day) and mild lower back pain.
Today my temperature dropped well below my coverline, but no spotting and no back pain, and no period yet.
I called RE's office and they told me that they consider start of period any sign of blood, when I told her I had been spotting for two days she said count today as one.... I am hoping to see some blood today, otherwise I don't know!
I don't know what usually happens, I had 3 cycles where I spotted one day before period, but it was actual red spotting, not like this. I also had a D&C 4.5 weeks ago, maybe this is messing up my upcoming period too, but I know I ovulated....
Any insight? I guess I should just wait and see, but I am stressing about this...
Thanks!

Don't stress. When I had my D&C, I bled and/or spotted for about a few weeks after that. It did stop and start, so that could explain your spotting. My doctor told me though that a period will be with red blood, not brown. On the day you start bleeding red, they told me is day one and then you start counting for day three blood work (they can do that day three on either days two, three or four). Then you count from there. Is there any possibility that you could be pregnant? When I spotted brown one day and then it stopped around the time I was supposed to get my period, my doctor tested me for pregnancy because that could be a sign of implantation bleeding. I hope that helps.

I would love to be pregnant, we timed it great, but the huge dip in temperature today is not hopeful.
I tested yesterday and it was negative... still early, but 2 months ago I tested + at 9dpo....
I guess I will wait until I see red blood.
Thanks!
