My DD is in a co-Ed league for now, but can thinking in high school will want competition with girls only as boys become much bigger physically.
Is there anywhere to okay among girls besides the St James out in Springfield? Thank you for any tips! |
| Op--how old is your daughter and where do you live? |
| There are lots of all girls teams in the dmv. We need your DDs age and location. |

12 DC
Thank you!! |
| Reston Raiders, St. James, Montgomery Ice Devils, Frederick Freeze, Loudoun Knights …my daughter has also played against teams from Chevy Chase, Piedmont Predators, and Potomac Patriots over the years. |
| There is also Ice Dogs in Northern VA. They have limited teams this season due to rink construction but I think for next year they will have more teams. |

Go to this page all the way down for the girls league https://www.cbhl.org/page/show/8088502-2022-2023
If she’s 12 this year you probably need a 14u team next year. Closest from DC will be Nova Ice Dogs, Chevy Chase and Montgomery Blue Devils. Reston Raiders also run a strong girls program but are probably a bit further for you. |

Your options are basically TSJ, Reston, Montgomery, and Potomac (Woodbridge) for Tier 2 teams. I wouldn’t bother with the Ice Dogs. It will take them years to recover from having to shut down their travel programs, if they ever do.
There is also the Washington Pride if she is good enough for Tier 1 |
| Wow, thank you everyone for all of these detailed responses! |
| Tri-City, Southern MD, Bowie, Howard, Baltimore Stars all have girl teams this year. These are all far for you but might be helpful for other families looking for all-girl teams. Some clubs don’t always have teams for all age levels so you may need to call around. Tryouts are usually March/April. |
| Depending on what side of DC you are on, Tri City or Montgomery are probably the best options. |
Thank you, this makes sense, that they may not have all age levels at all clubs. Thanks for pointing that out. |
Thank you! |
