Pecan pie

Where can I get a delicious pecan pie? I’ve tried all the grocery stores pies and have never found one I love.

Super simple pie to make - buy Karo syrup (light or dark doesn't matter) and follow the recipe on the back. You can even buy a store/refrigerated pie crust, and it will still be delicious. If you want to improve, add a cup of chocolate chips to the recipe and then bake - chocolate pecan pie

Agree the recipe on the Karo syrup bottle is the way to go - and will take you 5 min with storebought crust. Don’t add chocolate chips though! That will ruin it.

Or make one with and one without chocolate chips

Thanks for the info! Does that mean no one has found a delicious store-bought pie?

Buy them from a pie shop. You need a better crust than store bought.

I like Fox Hollow Farms north of Gaithersburg.

Pie Gourmet in Vienna has the best pies. Also, I like Whole Foods’ pecan pie.

Where do you live OP?
The Amish market in Laurel has great pies but it’s hard to offer suggestions without knowing location.

I think if you use brown sugar instead of corn syrup you’ll end up with different texture

To each their own

Whole Foods has good pecan pie.

Mom's Apple Pie has a chocolate bourbon walnut pie that is to die for. Pretty sure they have pecan pie. All their pies are the bomb.

Acme in South Arlington and Pie Gourmet in Vienna have amazing pecan pies!

OP here - I'm in Chevy Chase but I am willing to drive basically anywhere!

OP, generic store bought pies are *terrible*. I will include specialist/gourmet ones in that list. I have tasted a lot of them from pretty much New York to here, and never liked them.

We take turns hosting Thanksgiving with my cousin. HE loves Pecan Pie. It's his single request for Thanksgiving (and why I have eaten so.damn.many pecan pies). He no longer requests pecan pies, because I make this for him:

Do try. It's super easy, and delicious. DO NOT substitute Karo syrup for Lyle's; that's probably what makes the biggest difference in how amazing this tastes.

How do you get the pecans to line up in concentric circles so perfectly like the ones in a fancy bakery?
