Tell me about EDP

Does anyone play for both ECNL RL + EDP at the same time for middle school age group? Is it a heavy load to play both? Not every kid on a soccer team only plays soccer.

What’s the competition level for EDP D1 and D2, is it generally similar to ECNL RL for DMV area? I recognize some teams in EDP D4 or so also playing at NCSL at the same time.

If your team is playing edp and ECRL, then they need the competition at edp. ECRL is generally lower than edp division 1.

For girls, it's ECNL/GA then USYS/EDP then ECRL then NCLS

What age and gender? Assuming you're referring to boys u13 and up since your mention ecnl rl but there is no edp 1. There us usys 1 and 2 and edp starts at divison /premier 3.

Great Falls girls are playing both ECRL and EDP/NL. I think the ECRL competition is better.

In my daughter's age group this weekend at Bethesda tournament, the RL teams were generally stronger than the EDP 1 teams. But that could have been different in other groups.

In NoVA, at least at the older ages, the ECNL-RL competition is generally stronger than the EDP South Atlantic Premier I competition.

PP here - sorry, should've clarified that this is in reference to girls teams. Can't speak to boys teams.

Really? We're an EDP1 team that regularly beats ECNLRL teams from VA (and MD). But maybe that's just our year?

GFR parent here

What I have found is that the ECNL-R league has all of the top ECNL 2nd teams, and all the small clubs first teams.

EDP does not always have the 2nd best team from the big ECNL clubs and then often have the 2nd team from the smaller clubs..think Valor Gold in ECNL-R vs Valor White in EDP. Also I think many of the ECNL-R teams might skip EDP all together....I don't see any teams from Loudoun, Mclean, Arlington, VDA in South Atlantic Premier U-17

Small clubs aren't allowed in ECNL-R. They play NCSL and if they have a stand out year, that team plays EDP/USYS

Yes U13 boys. So only division 1 and 2 are considered "Regional Leagues of USYS" and then the EDP divisions right.

GFR seems to have more some boys teams in ECNL RL and USYS/EDP (e.g. 2010 team).
