Mirena experience

I’ve had my Mirena for 6 months now and am getting a period every 18-20 days that lasts for for 5 days and ranges from light to heavy. After getting it put in I had spotting on and off for about 6 weeks but then that went away.

I am disappointed that I am not one of the many who no longer gets a period. For those who don’t get periods on Mirena, did you ever get one after getting it or no? Wondering if there is a chance it still goes away at some point or this how it’s going to be.

I didn’t get a period on Mireya. Of course, I got preganant about a year after it was inserted and it was ectopic. With no missed period, I didn’t know about the pregnancy until the tube burst. Good times. I know they say it’s 99.9% effective, but I know of at least two other women who had failures.

I’ve been on Mirena for close to 10 years. No period whatsoever after about the first year where it was random.
