My 7 year old DD is begging for a loft bed. Many of the ones for sale on Marketplace say they’ve been used a handful of times at most. I don’t want to buy a loft bed just to have her not want to sleep in it. Loft bed parents, what has been your experience? |
Great way to save space! It’s their bed / of course they use them. What are they going to do- sleep on the floor? |
Mine did not. Two of the three begged for them. And personally I hated them because they are a pain to make and our kid is a hard sleeper and you wake them, it’s a pain to get to them. But really it wasn’t much of an issue because mine did choose to sleep on the floor. |
Both my kids used them, 7 years each starting at age 3. |
My DD used hers from 12 to 22. Once she graduated and moved out, we switched to a double bed for guests. |
My 16 yr old DD is on year 9. She claims it’s difficult for her to sleep in “regular”/low bed. |
My son loved his from age 4 onward. He had a play fort underneath it with curtains and loved sleeping there. |
Mine uses his every night! I was worried about this so just got an inexpensive model, but he really likes it. |
My 8-9 year old used one for about 6 months, it created a lot of extra space! We reven recommended it to our fiends.... but then she didn't want to use it at all after 6 months. ![]() |
Yes but I think 7 is too young |
Mine did. He really didn't have a choice, though; he couldn't have had a bean bag chair or dresser in his room without one. |
College kids use them a lot in the dorms. |
Yes we bought one for my daughter when she turned 7 and she is still using it at ten. |
Mine used his from 6-13 and then we moved to a xl full because the twin was too short but he really enjoyed the loft bed when he had it and we had a large bean bag under it for many years as well. |
My DD has a PB loft bed over top of another bed. She wanted this for sleepovers. No one EVER sleeps up top, it just collects dust and is a pain to change the sheets |
