Mid-range colleges with centralized social life

looking for middle tier liberal arts colleges with solid academics but also some social centrality. Kid has UW 3.7/W 4.2 prob not great SAT so def no top schools.
I went to oberlin and there was a “disco” that served a a great meetup point for weekends when you wanted to have fun.
Visited SMCM recently and found the lack of something like a “sco” leaving the campus feeling a bit desolate, despite its beauty.
