Homemade biscuits or rolls for Thanksgiving

Anonymous
Hi. I usually do a bakery for these but would like to try making my own. Any recipe recommendations appreciated. I’d say I can pull something a step up from easy but probably not more than that.

Also, if making your own rolls, do you put them in the oven last ?

I make rolls and it's an all-day process; they have to rise 4 times. It's worth it, they are light, fluffy, buttery, just yummy! I only make these at Thanksgiving. Because they take most of the day to make, they are usually finished close to dinner time.

FWIW, I am not a fan of biscuits for Thanksgiving (love them for other things) because they tend to be a richer bread. When combined with a rich dinner of turkey (if you're having turkey), stuffing, assorted potatoes, etc., they feel like too much. So I generally go with rolls, and bad me, for Thanksgiving I generally just use the box of Hot Roll mix. Still plenty of work, but easier for me than starting completely from scratch.

I usually do these: https://rhodesbakenserv.com/dinner-rolls/

I don’t have a good recipe for homemade yet - I don’t usually have the bandwidth to do homemade rolls along with everything else. I tried making these last month to see how they are since it’s an easy recipe, but they were bad. https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/big-batch-quick-dinner-rolls-recipe
