| What's age appropriate that could kick off the Christmas spirit? |
| Olaf's Frozen Adventure |
| Charlie Brown Christmas |
| The original How the Grinch Stole Christmas. |

Families have different concerns about content for children. I encourage you to look uo individual shows on Common Sense Media or or the IMDB (Parent’s Guide section) for more detailed information.
A Charlie Brown Christmas Rankin Bass Christmas specials (Rudolph, Frosty, Santa Clause is Coming to Town, The Year Without a Santa Clause, Twas the Night before Christmas, etc.) although some might be a bit “scary” for a sensitive child. The Santa Clause (rated PG) if your family is relaxed and watches a lot of general movies together How the Grinch Stole Christmas (also rated PG) Here’s a more extensive list from Common Sense Media you night find helpful. https://www.commonsensemedia.org/lists/best-holiday-movies-for-kids |
| Rudolph, the NYC Ballet Nutcracker with Macaulay Culkin |
| Chalie Brown Christmas. We love the soundtrack too! |
|
There are a bunch of Mickey ones on Disney+ that have been popular with my kids. Once Upon a Christmas, its sequel Twice Upon a Christmas, Mickey and Minnie Wish Upon a Christmas, and last year's Mickey Saves Christmas. We'll also watch the old Christmas Sing Along Songs Disney used to release in the late-80's/early-90s. Charlie Brown and Rankin Bass were less successful at that age.
|
| ^^ to add, they like How the Grinch Stole Christmas too. |
|
My kids always loved Stick Man.
Snowy Day on Amazon Prime is excellent Gruffalo and Gruffalo's Child are not specifically Christmas but my kids always asked to watch those around Christmas time. |
| Muppet Christmas Carol, though it might get scary depending on how sensitive your 4 y/o is. |
|
There used to be a cute one on Amazon Prime with Mariah Carey, an animated movie about a little girl and a dog.
The original animated Grinch for sure. Cee-Lo and the Muppets have a cute Christmas music video that my daughter loved at that age! |
My kid loves watching a YouTube video of the NYC Ballet Nutcracker. No Macaulay though -- is this a different production? |
|
The 1983 Nutcracker movie is great, I have a family member in the cast but I'd think it was boring for a 4yr old.

-Arthur's Perfect Christmas (look on PBS kids app)
-Snowy Day - I think it's on Netflix or Amazon -Frosty the Snowman (the old school one, you can buy it on Amazon) -Charlie Brown Christmas (can purchase on Amazon) -Agree on the Mariah Carey dog movie. It was on HBO Max last year, I think. My kids also like The Polar Express, but I wouldn't introduce it to a 4yo proactively. I'd give it another year. It's got a few weird scenes. |
