Best stuffing for thanksgiving that I can bring to a friend's house.

Is Pepperidge Farm any good? There will be about 25 people there from ages 6-80.

any version of apple sausage or apple sausage cranberry stuffing. and then make a traditional box for traditionalists. 25 people is a LOT. Also see if there are any dietary issues.

Do people usually put sausage in stuffing? I grew up with the box.

People put lots of things in stuffing.

I wouldn't add sausage, oysters or fruit without knowing my audience. I would clarify with the host to confirm if they expect traditional stuffing or cornbread stuffing. I prefer traditional, but it's very family specific.

Pepperidge Farm is fine and non-offensive, just add butter, onions, celery.

I agree with this poster. Traditional is best unless you know that they always use one of the extras. I would include mushrooms in the list of not to add unless you know.

Thank you. I really don’t like mushrooms so that is easy to leave out. With so many people maybe I could do traditional and cornbread?

Agreed. I would not expect sausage unless you knew that was the tradition for the group.

Thanks. No clue their tradition but if they are asking me to bring I assume they don’t have a family recipe.

its a version just like cornbread vs other bread or oyster etc. for that big of a group you should 100% check for allergies and then make a traditional box and a non-traditional one both capable of feeding 15people minimum.

with 25 people, I'm hoping they have 2-3 stuffings being served.

I’ve had Pepperidge farm once, I thought it was terrible. I would not bring it to a pot luck. I think you’re supposed to bring homemade dishes. It’s thanksgiving!

Do you have a recipe that you like that doesn’t include mushrooms, sausage or oysters??

You can just buy a couple bags of cubed bread at any grocery store - Pepperidge Farms is fine. I buy plain so I can add my own seasoning. Just follow the directions on the bag. It’s crazy simple. Butter onion celery chicken broth seasonings. You can also buy bagged cornbread and do the same.

Just buy the Stovetop chicken flavor can and don't add anything to it.

I like Julia Child's Cornbread and Sausage Stuffing the most. I make it every year for the last 25 years. My family loves it. I've also done the King's Hawaiian Bread stuffing without meat, and everyone loves that too.
