Pencil skirts

Cleaning out my closet. Have about five pencil skirts. Are people still wearing these? I have not worn skirts to work for awhile and am deciding if I can still wear these…

Yes! I saw a woman walking in one the other day and wished I were her. It was a fabulous look and I felt such envy. These thighs, butt, and pencil skirts don’t play well together.

I have enormous shoulders and will never look good in a pencil skirt. I’m super jealous.

Yes, I look great in a pencil skirt. Shorter ones. Actually, maybe they're minis.

They are incredibly flattering on the right body type. Don't get rid of them just bc they're not in style! They look way better than most trendy clothes today.

I also don't think there are well-defined trends for real work clothes any more anyway.

Never throw out a pencil skirt. It’s a classic!

I would say pencil skirts are classic enough that they don’t go out of style

Dress them up with heels and they also look great dressed down with ballet flats or loafers, I don’t think pencil skirts can go out of style.

If they suit your figure, keep them--they are classic staple. They look fantastic on hourglass shapes especially. You can update the look with the right top/jacket and shoes. Below are some ideas.

They are back, everything tailored this fall

OP: Mine are all knee length which seems shorter than all the pics. Maybe it's the longer ones that seem still in style.

I have never worn pencil skirts in any other environment than a conservative consulting office. I have no idea if they’re trendy or dated in the outside world but I would never not wear one to work.

Again, it depends on how you style it. If you pair it with a simple, classic top (white shirt, cashmere sweater in black/navy/gray/camel) and updated shoes, it will work.

J Crew has a few pencil skirts on its website. Here's a knee-length one. You can see how it is styled.

Here's a knee-length pencil skirt styled by Banana Republic.

Type in "pencil skirt" in the Banana Republic Factory search engine to say a range of knee-length ones and how they are styled:
