Chance of moving to private Jan ‘24

DC IS IN 3rd grade FCPS and considering attempting to move to a private or parochial after winter break. Suggestions where might have any chance at all?

Prefer Vienna, Reston, Herndon, GF, McLean or Oakton area.

There's not a ton of discussion of schools out that way on this board. At this point of the year your best chance is to just generate a list of nearby schools and start calling.

Academy for Christian Education (evangelical protestant, non-denominational) might have an opening. They are in an office park in Reston.

We know families whom were very happy at ACE and also one that pulled their child part-way through the year. So kick tires and ask questions before committing.

Separately, work now on applications for next Fall (Fall 2024) from the schools on your preferred list. Go to open houses, contact admissions. If you like what you see at a school, then one can politely ask if there is any chance of a January opening (but most schools will smile and say no). The better schools will have more applicants than places, so apply to 4-5 different schools.

Not all schools admit mid-year. It's best to just start calling around.
