kettlebell advice

Anonymous
I'm starting a new at-home workout program that requires a kettlebell for kettlebell swings. I've gotten a bit out of shape this past year and don't own a kettlebell. Any thoughts on how many lbs I should start with? Amazon Basics has some that look decent.

I would advise caution. Everyone I know who did home based kettle ball programs (no instructor) threw out their back.

Thanks, I appreciate the warning. I have used them in the past with a coach, but it's been a looooong time!

Start lighter than you think, and move up in weight very slowly.
