My dream renovation of a condo

Anonymous
This is the Claire in Connecticut NW and this is how I'd renovate it (my changes are in red). I'd promised I'd find a low cost condo and keep the reno budget (not fixtures) under 50K, then post it. Please use agent S. Naranch if you're so inclined. - the lady he met at Giant

In full, I added:

A - custom pantry to the kitchen
B - A office off the main bedroom
C - A wet bar

WoW! It has everything in one level, maybe add a gym area where dining table is, who need a table, eat at the bar

Post pictures, please!

What clever use of space! I love the pantry you added to the kitchen. I also like the closet for the washer/dryer. You could add storage shelves above them, too.

Would also enjoy seeing pictures if you end up doing this renovation!

why do you need a wet bar? is kitchen really that far?

If you need a wet bar in a one bedroom condo, you drink too much.

The pantry is way too close to the door.

How are you going to plumb a wet bar in a condo when the stack is over on the other wall? And having lived in a tiny tiny two bedroom, I'd say the fewer walls the better. Who wants to squeeze into a library carrel to work all day?

You need to make the pantry smaller and add a coat closet near the door. You can't live in DC with Summer/Fall/Winter clothes in that one little bedroom closet. Plus, how much food does a person in a one bedroom condo need to store?

Intelligent use of small spaces for multipurpose activities is the key to a successful renovation of a condo. Quality upgrades are cherry on top.

Can someone please explain what’s happening for those of us not in the know? Are we routing for the dude or the lady he met at Giant here?

This listing, right:

I don't think it's as big as you think it is. The drawing is misleading with the size of the closet. Not sure about the pantry, there are no pics of that space.

Also, weirdly, no pics of the living room.

Be careful, OP. It doesn't look like there's enough room to add the office? It's hard to tell from the zillow photos. Also, the washer/dryer are stacked, so that closet will not have space for anything but the W/D. The marketing illustration shows the washer/dryer next to each other, not stacked. Make sure the condo has as much space as the advertising says it has.
