We recently switched to laundry strips to cut down on packaging. While I like the concept, we have tried Earth Breeze and Tru Earth and neither seem as effective as liquid detergent. Any other brands to try? |
How about powdered tide in the cardboard box? It’s the best detergent around. |
+1 to powdered tide. |
S il me stores even carry this fragrance free for those who prefer/need that. But I’m interested in the laundry strips too. |
Most laundry strips are made of plastics and generate microplastics. They're not nearly as green as the companies would like you to believe -- these plastics do not biodegrade. Look for PVA, or polyvinyl alcohol, on the label.
I'm currently using Dirty Labs, which is a concentrated liquid in a recyclable aluminum bottle. I've also tried Blueland tablets, but prefer Dirty Labs (although I'm still using the Blueland dishwasher tablets). |
According to Consumer Reports, laundry strips are the worst performing laundry detergent. You may as well just save your money and wash your clothes in water. |
I was interested in the strips but lost interest after reading a variety of comparison reviews. The strips currently on the market perform poorly compared to other types of detergent. |
I’ve been very happy with powdered detergent from etee (mail order). No plastics, each load requires only 1T detergent. I see no difference in performance versus liquid detergent. As for strips, I thought I read recently they are actually made with a type of plastic. |
This was my childhood detergent and I made the switch back last year. So great. |
