I am considering buying this washer/dryer, which has very high on many different websites. Does anybody have direct experience with it?
The combo option would eliminate the problem with mold developing on front loader machines, right? Also, while drying may take a bit longer, avoiding having to manually load a different machine would save time for me in the end, since I am rarely loading the dryer right after the washer is done. https://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-Profile-4-8-cu-ft-UltraFast-Combo-Washer-Dryer-with-Ventless-Heat-Pump-Technology-in-Carbon-Graphite-PFQ97HSPVDS/324668085#ratings-and-reviews |
| Don’t get ventless dryer if you have ability to vent. They suck |
| make sure to get extended warranty |
| Not sure what you mean by a but longer. We had a ventless washer/dryer combo when we lived in another country and drying took (literally) hours. We hung all of our laundry to dry. |
How many years ago was that? You know technology always improves. This model may take in average 2/2.5 hours for a full cycle. If the running time was so long people wouldn’t give great reviews to the machine. |
| My LG new dryer takes in theory 57 minutes to dry a normal load, but it rarely finishes by then and continues drying who knows for how long until the sensor detects clothes are dry. |
| PP here. LG dryer is vented. |

We have that model and LOVE it. We use it a vacation house so we can do towels and sheets when we leave, and have always come back to clean, dry linens.
When we use it when we are staying, the wash dry cycle together is about 2.5-3 hours. No complaints! |
This is not true. What is true is that you need a washing machine that will spin out at 1400+rpm. Oversized machines are up to 1200 and they don't work as well with the heat pump technology because there's more residual water. Our most basic Miele pair can manage king sized bedding and clothes for 3 kids, no issues and the standard dry cycle takes just over a half hour for a normal load of clothes. |
OP. Thank you! Very helpful ☺️ |
| We have a Bosch stack that is ventless in our apartment. We thought it was the worst, towels never dried, etc. Then I realized there are 2 lint filters, the one that is obvious that we clean every time we use the dryer and then a second filter that is less noticeable and only after i did some internet searching figured that out. Once we cleaned the second filter the dryer dries like a normal vented dryer and we are happy with it now. |
Physics lesson: the force of water extraction in the spin cycle increases with the diameter of the drum at the same RPMs. So lesser RPMs on a larger drum can be just as effective as faster RPMs on a smaller drum. |
| We bought a ventless washer dryer for our 1200 sq ft 1890s vacation home in New Orleans. It works great and is a major space saver. If you have more space and we’re included you could buy 2 and do laundry loads in double the time. |

We got a ventless dryer 6 months ago and it works great - no more wasteful blowing of hot air into the outdoors. It takes a bit longer to dry but uses a lot less energy so a worthwhile trade-off we are happy to do. |
