Having to explain things too much?

Is it me or do we need to explain things too much lately? There is absolutely no thinking on your own or trying to understand on your own.

Is it just me?

Mostly just you. Also, it could be the people that you've hired.

Definitely you

If it's that big of an issue the problem likely has more to do with your communication skills than other people's listening skills.

Not OP, but nope in my case. I've trained new recruits for years, and it has been a struggle the last few years. I try to avoid generational generalizations, so I've been blaming a shrinking base of people who give a darn about work (and kinda, good for them).

Not at work, at home to my husband it's exhausting and tedious.

I think we as a society have lost patients with paying close attention to others when they speak to us. it is natural to not want to have to listen to others, but in a land of Zoom calls when you can actually surf while "in meetings" our focus is more shot than ever.

I keep wanting to say to people Get to the point! in a way that I never felt before.

Time will tell how we adjust, but so far, most people listen less.
