| What is usual? |
| Right before the closing appointment for us. |
| The hour before closing but when we sold it was two days before. They try to have it right before closing but it is only always possible to get everyone's schedules to align (buyers, sellers, lawyer, agent). |
| It was directly after closing and the idiot seller had turned off all electric / gas etc without warning us. |
Why would you do the walkthrough AFTER closing? |
| Two hours before closing. |
| The morning of the closing idk how many hours. |
Yeah, that's not a walk through. That's just you arriving at your house. |
I think just within 24 hours or so. I don't see a reason to wake up at 5AM if the closing needs to be at 9, unless you're suspicious of the seller for some reason. But not if it's a normal transaction. I'm fairly trusting though. |
| First house we did it the afternoon before and second house the morning of. I wish we had done the afternoon before because there was an issue that we would have liked resolved but we didn’t want to push back the closing for it. We ended up getting a gift card but would have preferred a larger credit from our down payment. |
lol. true |
| DO A preoffer inspection! I am so glad we did. The entire basement was flooded with a foot deep of water! |
|
15 minutes before for us.
Then a week later for the rent-back walk-through. |
|
The morning before. So like 2-3 hours before the closing meeting.
|
And you needed an inspector to tell you that? |
