Dumb question about sport jerseys

Anonymous
For indoor soccer and indoor football, do kids wear just jerseys or do they wear a shirt underneath? Same question for basketball.

And do kids show up to practice and games with cleats already on or is it bad to walk around with cleats on?

I’m pretty much clueless but my elementary kid wants to do all sports all the time so help me out please.

My kid doesn’t wear anything underneath and shows up to practice with cleats on.

Nothing underneath usually. Show up in shoes they will be playing in (including cleats as they are just the rubber ones at this age).

If short sleeve then so shirt underneath. For basketball, t shirt underneath.
For little the kids, west the cleats around.

If we are going somewhere after, I bring other shoes. Usually crocs.

We only wear something under if it’s cold outside for soccer.

For basketball, mine do wear a t-shirt under bc the jersey is a tank top and that’s what they want.

Just jerseys for most sports, rubber cleats are fine to wear to and from practice and games but mine prefer to wear slides

Thanks all! I just don’t want my kid to look like a goof tomorrow.

Not a thing. Some kids will wear t-shirts/base layers under their jerseys. Some kids won’t. Some kids will wear Crocs and put their cleats on later. Some will wear the cleats from the car. NBD.

Cleats should not be worn off the field. That’s not taking care of your equipment.

True. And 99.9% of kids in rec show up with cleats already on. OP isn’t talking about older kids or a travel team.

DS wears a t-shirt under his basketball jersey, I think he is not used to the feel of a tank top and likes the sleeve. His basketball jersey is also made from a different material then his soccer jersey and I think that he doesn’t like the meshy feel of the basketball jersey.

DS wears his cleats to and from soccer. He is wearing inexpensive plastic cleats to and from the field andinto the car. He is not wearing expensive cleats made of material that would damage a floor if he were to walk on it. We bring crocs if we are going some place straight from soccer.

Indoor they wont wear cleats. Just tennis shoes. Outdoor, we put cleats on before we leave the house because my son cant tie his own shoes yet and its easier to do it before. Nothing under the jerseys, but its a personal decision and fine if hes more comfortable with.
