Can you tell me if you have been happy/unhappy with Rock Creek Forest Elementary and what you liked/didn't?
many thanks. |
My child is in the english program at RCF. These are the things I like: small class sizes, engaged interesting teachers, diverse student body, accessible administrators who really care about the needs of the children, fantastic after care program, involved parents.
Things I don't like: the school building is in terrible shape. I don't want to start an immersion -vs- english program debate- but there is definitely some angst between the two programs. In general we love the school and are very happy with it. |
Agree with poster above on everything except for the administration. I think the principal is a Weast-bot who gives you a lot of lip service but really just toes the party line.
And I think the quality of the immersion teachers is iffy -- some are great, some are awful. Plus, if you are in the immersion side you run a greater risk of a long-term sub, because it's so hard for them to find teachers. |
It used to be a small class size on the English side. Right Now there are over 50 incoming students for 2 kindergarten classes. |
Weast-bot, good one. I'd agree with that analysis. |
Thanks, it just came to me! ![]() |
