Will travel to Europe be down next summer?

Anonymous
Between terrorism, wars, and the economy, I'm wondering if the hordes that descended on Europe this last summer will ease up. Will more people decide to travel domestically? Will demand on beach destinations rise?

Guessing no.

No, and also the Olympics will be in Paris in August so lots of people coming for that and traveling around Europe before and after.

We're planning our trip in June hoping to avoid the Olympics crowd.

There are more rich people than ever before. So no.

Yup. That's definitely driving this demand.

The richest 1% now hold a higher percentage of wealth that every before....wouldn't that translate to less rich people, since the 1% possess a higher percentage, and the other 99% have less wealth to spread around?

The amount of money in people's pockets is growing enough that tons of people feel able to spend thousands and thousands on trips to Europe.

No. there is always war in the Middle East. What terrorism? You’re not unique in wanting to go to Europe in summer. It will be busy.

Terrorism might prompt people to change minds, but I doubt it.

I follow a lot of travel-related social media and groups. You might be surprised to hear cruise ships are still visiting Egypt. They just reroute the stops in Israel. If people are still traveling to Egypt, then I doubt anyone will skip Europe, the Mediterranean, etc.

It is a little amazing that the air prices have gone up so fast without really affecting demand. Who would have thought leisure travel was so inelastic?

What terrorism?
