Stranger showed up at our apartment unannounced

Asking if he and his child could take a look at our apartment because they lived there years ago and the child was born there but has no memory of it. How would you have responded?

This happened to us in our home but it was an older woman. I had a newborn and my mom decided to let her have a look around…

I think I would have said yes... probably risky, though. But it's not the usual gambit of thieves.

There was some show or movie I saw in the past few years where this was the ploy used to get into a house and murder people, can't remember what it was though.

I would not do it these days…But, ages ago, I went with a friend to visit her old childhood home. The guy who lived there was very friendly and showed us all around. He was pleased with upgrades he had made and wanted to tell us all about them, which my friend was not so excited about. Lol

I wanted to go see the inside of my childhood home when I went back to my hometown for a visit but figured the owners would have been uncomfortable. It would have been so nice to see it! But don’t think I am letting someone in my house either.

It's not a "baby". It's an actual baby, that they kidnapped for that purpose.

Yep, that scene immediately came to my mind too.

If it's a single family house, I'd be more understanding and depending on who else is with me at the time, might allow someone to walk down memory lane.

But a man showing up at an apartment is all kinds of no in my mind. It's an apartment and they tend to be pretty generic.
