| Thank you! My DC applied second round (Oct 15) and expecting yo be deferred. 3.8 , 32 ACT private school |
| What are they planning to study? |
| why? |
3.8 and expecting to be deferred? Is this a DMV private? |
| Auburn’s first round(s) are literally just a formula of ACT/SAT and GPA. If you go “test optional,” it virtually guarantees a deferral (they say fewer than 10% of applicants w/o test scores are admitted in the first round). There is nothing holistic about the process in the first round or two. |
Yes they tend to defer kids around here as believe they may be a safety |
They defer kids that don’t have high enough stats. |
The “yield protection” talk has gotten out of hand. As others have noted, Auburn is all about gpa and test score. They don’t defer students with high scores. |
No been through this with two kids they get in but have to demonstrate interest when deferred |
Does Auburn say they use interest on CDS? |
| My daughter got in first round. DMV private. 31 ACT 3.8 GPA |
|
EA round 1 (admitted on 10/13)
OOS ACT- 30 GPA 3.9 |
A bunch of admits from the 10/15 round just went through- tell him to check his portal. He will be admitted with that ACT |
No. What they have added this year for deferred students is a 150 word supporting statement explaining why they want to attend Auburn and what they plan on studying there. They also should submit updated first quarter grades and updated test scores of they have taken them again. |
| Auburn's acceptance rate has dropped into the 40's and many places still reflect a much higher acceptance because they have not been updated. Many many kids are assuming it is a safety and they are very clear about their only considering GPA and test Scores for their first EA rounds to offer early spots to the top and higher stats kids. |
