ACT or SAT?

My 11 yr old child has to take either the ACT or SAT to qualify for the AAP for our middle school (not in DC). Any insight as to which would be more user friendly for a younger child? I do know they can opt out of the writing portion for ACT. They can take ACT in person, but SAT would have to done online at home.

ACT has science. SAT doesn't.

Only the math, reading, and writing/English portions. They would still have to take the science portion of the act, but they aren’t looking at the science or composite score

SAT math questions tend to require lower-level math (algebra 1 and sohcahtoa) vs the ACT, while the ACT is more time-sensitive. I suggest you have them take a full length practice exam of each and see which they do better on.

PP is delusional. No question that I can find discusses which of these would be good for an 11yo.

Thus defeating the purpose of taking these tests at early ages, which, taken cold, show someone's native intelligence and ability to figure things out on the fly...

Definitely not doing full practice tests- taking it once is bad enough. But we will do some practice questions to get the feel for how the test will be.
