would you go back (salon)?

Anonymous
I went to a new salon (just moved here) and was very happy with the colorist, he actually suggested something to save me money (am I right or does this NEVER happen at salons) and the results looked great. Unfortunately, by three weeks later the color had faded significantly which was a little annoying but I guess it happens. The cut was like $65 and it was just so-so, not a BAD cut per se but not a good one either. And the blowdry was absolutely awful, I could have done a much better one myself.

I mentioned the blowdry in a review online, saying that I was so happy with the colorist (it was a good review) but that I was underwhelmed by the blowdry. The owner sent me a message saying that not all of their stylists love doing blowdries and he could recommend a better one. (Side note: if they don't love doing blowdries, or can't fake loving blowdries, maybe they shouldn't be working there?). The one he recommended does not work on the same day as the colorist. I'm starting to get a little peeved.

Should I just go somewhere else? If so, any reasonably priced recs in Arlington or Alexandria?

Due to the response from the owner I would find a new place. Blow drying is par for the course when you are a stylist, would you return to a restaurant that gave you a crap meal because it was not their favorite dish to prepare?

OP, what site has salon reviews?

Yeah, I don't think I'm going to go back. I found all the reviews on www.yelp.com.

Just curious what salon is this?

I'd rather not say, just b/c the owner did seem to be helpful and my color was great and I don't want to give them a negative review. It is in Alexandria though.
