Prospective parent here, and I’m curious about the dress code. We’ve been told no jeans, leggings or sweats, and that’s pretty much what our 8th grader wears.
So what do kids wear?? |
|
On a normal day, Girls typically wear leggings, colored jeans, or skirts/dresses. Basically, just no sweat pants or athletic pants (think team warm up pants).
On Chapel days, no denim, shorts, t-shirts, or sweatshirts. |
| Leggings are fine, colored denim (so not blue jeans, but any other color) is fine. Just no sweats. Somewhat dressier on chapel days. My daughter wore skirts most days when the weather was warmer and now that it’s cooler mostly wears leggings and knit pants. |
| Pp again, I should point out I’m assuming your child is a girl because you mention leggings, but boys mostly wear khaki-type pants, that I’ve seen. They wear jacket and tie on chapel days. |
| Thank you, PPs! What do girls wear on chapel days? |
Dresses, skirts, and pants with nice tops are all fine for chapel. When it’s warm out I think it definitely skews toward skirts/dresses, but I’ve been seeing more pants on Wednesdays now that it’s cooler. |
| This will be the least of your problems at the upper school. Inquire deeper. |
Care to share? |
Most anti-SSSAS trolls share no specifics, just spew general hate and derogatory vagueness. I suppose some of them may even have had legitimate poor experience at the school, but without some detail and the ability to understand that different kids can have different experiences, there’s no way to determine if their experience is relevant to any other kid’s potential situation. |
