Grade 11 Optimal qualified- what does this mean?

Anonymous
Looking at jobs in MCPS and some of them say they’re grade level plus “optimal qualified”. I looked on their website and couldn’t find a definition. Thanks, MCPSers!

Some positions are senior qualified, meaning interviews are given based on seniority in the school system. Optimally qualified means those selected to interview are not based on years of service, but based on experience and expertise. They can interview outside the school system as well.

I love that the system actually has a designated code word for "worse candidates preferred".

It's the opposite. It's a code for the jobs where better candidates are welcome.
