CSSC in addition to FAFSA?

DS’s college apps are underway, and I am trying to determine if I need to fill out the CSSC in addition to the FAFSA. I know we won’t get need based aid from any school, but I understand that I need to fill out the fFFSA to be considered for merit aid at some schools. Any wisdom regarding the CSSC?

| Bumping this to see if anyone has wisdom on whether we need to fill out the CSS, especially since the FAFSA is delayed. My digging says no, CSS is not required anywhere, and to focus on the FAFSA. Anyone think differently? |

| VERY few schools require FAFSA for merit scholarships (that have no need-based component) and most of those will notify the student and allow the FAFSA to be filed later. Check with each of your schools, but usually there is no need for a known full pay family to file any financial aid forms unless your student wants to take federal student loans. |
