| Oh wow. |
| I thought Judges had 24/7/365 security teams? How’s this even possible ? |
No. A county circuit judge does not have round the clock security. Most federal judges do not have this. What gave you this idea? |
Federal judges have more security than they used to but still not protective details. I clerked on the 2nd Circuit and they got special alarm systems after someone sent poisoned chocolates to one of the judges and a judge’s wife ate some and got very ill (but thankfully recovered); prior to that district judges in the NY area tended to have more security because of mob/organized crime threats during the 80s and early 90s. |
| We live in a world where many believe they can do what they want without consequence and anyone trying to impose consequence should be punished. The rules don’t apply to them. They have never been told no. |
|
Very sad. I hope they catch the killer. |
| Is this a meth thing? There are a lot of drugs in the western md counties. Very sad |
I dunno. Movies? Movies always show judges surrounded by teams of bodyguards and others patrolling outside their homes. I was also surprised when that Texas congressman was carjacked a couple weeks ago that he didn’t have a team of security people. |
Authorities are looking for 49 year old Pedro Argote

NP.
https://www.heraldmailmedia.com/story/news/local/2023/10/19/police-investigating-slaying-of-county-judge-in-western-maryland/71247680007/ Man wanted in connection with judge's murder had divorce case before judge Thursday The man wanted in connection with the shooting death of Washington County Circuit Judge Andrew Wilkinson was part of a divorce case that was the only matter before the judge Thursday, according to the day's court docket. Wilkinson signed an order Thursday saying there was to be no visitation or contact between Pedro Argote — wanted in connection with Wilkinson's slaying Thursday night — and his children, according to the partial judgment in the divorce case. There also was to be no contact between Argote and the children's mother. |
He does not look like stereotypes of killers or wife abusers / mundane face of evil if he is guilty … The poor family of the judge - what a nightmare for them. |
You’d be very surprised to know how many UMC men are domestic abusers. It’s far from limited to a stereotype. And the way you can really tell they are abusers is when, contrary to their own interests, they unleash their craziness on the judicial system. Killing the judge is an extreme; but these guys will characteristically be hostile and rude in court, just proving to the judge that they should have no custody. |
Maybe the Supremes. Certainly not any judge. |
