| My DD really wants to go to upitt and applied early September. Now it seems they want mid year grades. What does that mean exactly? Any experience out there on this? |

Pitt does this sometimes when perhaps grades/rigor on the bubble, particularly when students apply test optional (or so it seems, but hard to know for sure). You can see many examples of this request on College Confidential.
The good news is that there are many examples of kids being admitted once they have and submit their grades. It is a bummer to have to wait until then. Best of luck to your student! |

Honestly, it’s not the best sign. By the time her mid year grades come out, they will likely be mostly full, only admitting a few students here and there to fill in areas where they are light.
I’ve been hearing more on CC and Reddit of students getting this initial outcome. They are basically deferring their decision until Jan/Feb when they get the grades. |
Same happened to DS a couple years ago. He was admitted and absolutely loved his 4 years at Pitt! |
Wow that's awesome! If you don't mind me asking...what wee your son's stats for admission? |
