When should siding be replaced and what kind of kitchen is best?

I want to remodel our old split level not split foyer but split level that has the living room soon as you enter the door. A very old closet some siding might need to be replaced etc. We'd also like to add a floor if budget allows it. We also have an old carport with decaying wood beams and old ceilings.

I'm not sure what your exact question is, but here's what I'd do:

-First I'd start with the old closet - maybe there are some treasures!
-I like kitchens with all of the major appliances
-Then I'd change it from a split level to a split foyer and then maybe back to a split level.
