| We have been reducing screen time gradually from unlimited, we are now at 4 hours per day, with a goal of 2 hours. We have added pickle ball and soccer, hoping to add another activity that is not not organized sports. He does not care for bikes, hover boards etc. He likes robotics and stem stuff. |

My son of a similar age loves the TV show Battle Bots. We watch as a family. We got him & his brother these mini bots to build & fight. They were a fun project.

SnapCircuits can be a good STEM toy, but require very light adult supervision until child knows not to create a "short" circuit. One set also can be integrated with Legos.
Lego Robotics (MindStorms) can be good also, but might be pricey. Lego's Technic series has motors and things and can be a lower cost entry to Lego Robotics. When DC hets older, there are Lego Robotics teams - in some schools and also outside school. If budget allows, tennis or squash lessons are options. Both are good life long sports. |

I was also going to suggest the Lego robotics sets. Maybe a little advanced for the average 10 year old but if he’s interested now I think they could be a good fit, and he could “grow into” it a bit. I don’t know where you’re located but see if the county parks have any classes for it. He could also look into chess, it’s pretty popular at my kid’s elementary school especially in the upper grades.
For physical activity a lot of kids like rock climbing at the indoor rock climbing gyms. It’s not an organized/team sport and is very go at your own pace. |
