PSA - get your kid's flu shots, flu has already hit

Anonymous
4 kids in my oldest's class have gone down this week including my son, now my youngest has it also and may have given it to kids at daycare before he started having symptoms (of course we kept him home once he became sick). I unfortunately had been thinking as long as we get flu shots before the end of october we should be fine. I know they may or may not have the "right" strain, but even if its the wrong strain, its supposed to reduce the length and severity.

I forget how bad the flu is, thank goodness for motrin.

Something’s up.

3 of my colleagues are out this week with Covid or flu or something like that, and when I had to drop something off at the school office, the student sign-out clipboard was like “sick”, “sick”, “sick” all the way down.

Our ped said it was a weird strep strain that minicked the flu (no sore throat but high temp and puking)

Whatever it is it passed through all three of my kids over the last two weeks. Such fun!

YES - we got ours two weeks ago, I think just in time for this current round. So many kids have been out sick. The last time my daughter got the flu (it was one of the years that the flu shot was utterly ineffective), she was so tired she couldn't stand up. She very weakly told me she had to pee but couldn't move, I had to carry her. It was terrifying.

My 5 month old just tested positive for flu AND RSV at the same time last week, so yes, it is definitely making the rounds already.
