Just received notice that they still are having issues with the test, and now they are testing the kids the day after Halloween. That does not sound like a good idea. |
hahaha! Lots of sugar to fuel those brain cells. ![]() |
That’s a terrible decision |
Wow. Stupid. |
On the plus side, the average test score will be lower at most schools. |
That's such an interesting decision for the school to make; even without the candy, one of the biggest recs they make is for students to come in well rested. What kid is well-rested after Halloween?! I'd keep my kid home and let them utilize the retake day. |
Is this all schools or just one? |
I haven’t heard that from my 2nd grader’s school just a notice last week that it was moved to 10/23-25. I went through a lot of work to move a MD appointment from 10/25. I hope it’s not rescheduled again. |
Varies by school? My kid's school has not sent anything out since last week saying the test continued to be delayed indefinitely and to parent refer your kid if you want them considered for the program. To me, it read like they thought the test would be cancelled altogether. |
Has anyone taken cogat this year? |
Heard that kids who required to take the paper version could, but the computer based testing was impacted. I don’t know the criteria for the paper-based tests. |
My daughter was doing a retake of the cogat but only completed one out of three days before they stopped the testing. I didn't want to bother with completing the referral packet again this year if her score didn't improve. |
It’s countywide and impacting every school. The issue is with the vendor whose platform is used for the test. FCPS has no control over this.
Your school test coordinator should have sent out a communication about this. |
But are all schools going to complete it on the same day (after halloween)? |
Nov 1 and 2 are O days - can FCPS conduct testing on those days? |
