It feels odd to post this on my personal facebook but I am SO happy and wanted to share somewhere.
Truly beyond words. I have been in this country for 15+ years in different stages and different visas (student visa, work visa, student visa, permanent resident, etc.). I have very close ties to my home country but the US has been home for awhile now -- it is where I met my husband and we had our two children. Even though I was always here legally, the stress of visas and USCIS processing was constant. Finally, I can truly call the US home. As flawed as it may be, I love her and am so happy to be here. |

Congrats!
I am filing this Sunday, too. How long did you have to wait for the interview? Was it all straightforward or did the officer ask any unexpected questions or give you a hard time about anything in your biography? |
| Congrats!!! |
Not OP but will be a new citizen hopefully soon, and though my state is super reliably one party, I can’t wait to vote in the local elections and on local issues. |

OP here. Thanks everyone!
Yes, very excited to participate in the electoral process. I've been on the sidelines for awhile and look forward to being part of it. |
