its $10 for meal now?! I haven't eaten there in at least 4 years..that's a lot. Do they still have the $1 and $2 menu items like bacon cheeseburger? or mcchicken? mmmmmm

DH here. Hey OP, I worked there summer before freshman year of high school. I remember those exact prices (2.99) on the normal value meals. (Fancier ones like the Double Quarter Pounder were more.)

Also, regular hamburgers were $0.59; cheeseburgers were $0.69. But sometimes there was a nationwide promotion, and they would be $0.29 and $0.39.

This was 1994. Also, the U.S. had been duped by the health experts in believing that fats and saturated fats were making people fat, so by 1994, the French fries had lost most of their great flavor, and we were pushing the McLean Deluxe. It never sold well, though.

My kids love happy meals. Pre-pandemic, there were more options at McD's and I'd order something with the kids too. They had a grilled chicken sandwich that was actually good. Then during the pandemic, they limited the menu and never brought back a lot of the stuff.

The deals are better than the meals now. They have 2 sandwiches for $3.99 (used to be $3.50 until recently). You have a choice of 3 or 4 sandwiches. Since I tend to avoid fries, I usually get two McDoubles, two bags of apple slices and a large drink for about $7.00, which is better than the meals.

Download the McDonald's app. They have discounts such as 20% off orders over $10.

Why are adults eating McDonald’s anyhow?

Um, so you're surprised prices have increased since you graduated HS? Do you live under a rock?

And McD only offers what sells and cuts off dead weight items? For ex, they took off the grilled Mc chicken bc there was hardly a demand for it. Business 101.

I get a crispy chicken sandwich and small fries for about $4, I always have some iced tea or water already with me. That satisfies my McD craving every few months.

I also remember when it was 47 cents for a three course meal at McDonalds.

You gotta use the McDonald's app to get the best deals!

B1G1 free Big Mac... $2.50 10 piece nugs... free large french fries... 0.99 iced coffee (and their sugar free vanilla iced latte is bomb).

I get eating McDonalds once in a while as an indulgence, but it's weird to eat it so often that this is even a concern. Once a year, I'll get a filet o fish. Maybe medium fries. You're eating it wayyyyy too often, OP.

It has nothing to do with arrogance--just caring a little bit about your health.

I have to say that McDonalds seems to me to have become shockingly expensive. The small order of fries in the little paper pocket that used to be $1 is now nearly $3! And the quality (even accounting for it being fast food) seems increasingly wretched at nearly every branch I visit, even though I rarely go except when driven by low blood sugar and so am hungry when I get there. I had hamburgers twice this week in such circumstances. Both times they were more or less inedible, completely dessicated, on buns with less moisture than a rock. Whatever its nutritional or culinary merit or lack thereof, McDonald's at least used to be consistent and reliable. Now the only consistency seems to be poor quality.

I love their fries. Friday is free fries day too (on the app)!

For the 99 cent iced coffee you don't even the need the app if it's before 9 am.

Yes, I only use the App and buy the deals. The deals are good and are usually BOGO or similar. Don't buy regular price and overpay by 2x.
