2nd Grade CogAT

Saw on the posted testing schedule that 2nd graders will be taking the CogAT this year end of Nov/early Dec. does anyone know how this will factor in to CES lottery? I know they haven’t done this test since COVID. It also seems early since CES lottery is 3rd grade.

Also, how many folks prep kids for this? I know my kid will do just fine on it but don’t want to put them at a disadvantage if we don’t prep and everyone else does

The 2nd grade test has never factored into the CES lottery. The 3rd grade test does.

2nd grade test is used for SIPPI identification, which means nothing.

But it looks like only 2nd graders are taking it. Something is really odd about this

Yes, MCPS does the mandatory state g/t program eval in 2nd grade with the cogat screener.

What/which test results in 3rd grade do they use for CES lottery? From my understanding, it seems they don't consider math level, but reading level, right?
