Any experience with Polk Elementary in the City of Alexandria?

We are currently zoned for attendance at this school. Our oldest will be heading to K in 2011. We are considering a move to another area (Arlington, Fairfax county, or even MD), but are trying to learn more about this school and Tucker in Alexandria just in case we have to stick around a little longer. We don't see much on this board for City of Alexandria schools, but thought it was worth giving it a shot....

Any thoughts/experiences/comments are greatly appreciated.

Contact the PTA presidents at both schools. I know Tucker has a very active, really impressive PTA. I don't know as much about Polk, but I am sure that the presidents can give you lots of information. It might be somewhat boosterish, but helpful nonetheless.
