Tips for finding Wegovy?

Are the starter doses just not available anywhere? Is it worth it to hunt or is that futile? The CVS pharmacist just shook her head when I asked how long it would take.

Any recent experience finding starter doses in NoVa?

I get mine from a pharmacy in a low income neighborhood. Have made this suggestion many times before. It works for me

Wait a month or two until Mounjaro is indicated for weight loss, then everyone will switch to Mounjaro and Wegovy will be made available. Tada!

You’ll end up in the ER vomiting, cramping and dehydrated. Do NOT do this. It’s a medicine that requires a step up to get your body used to it. You cannot skip over doses.

There are youtube videos about how to inject the contents of the higher dose wegovy pen into a sterile bac (sp?) jar and then draw out the .25 dose, saving the rest to use later (it explains how to calculate how many cc's to draw).

I haven't done this, but others have.

I've gotten it by calling LOTS of pharmacies. I've gotten it from Harris Teeter a couple of times, not sure if that is just a coincidence.

This seems like an appallingly dangerous thing to do, IMO.

My doctor gave me the .25 free sample she got from drug rep. Have you asked your doctor to watch for these and save you one? After the free sample month, I could not find .25 or .5 anywhere - tried further out of town, etc. but I did find the 1 mg and have successfully used that - skipping the .5 dose step up. Felt gross after first injection, but no cramping, vomiting, etc. By third dose of 1 mg no side effect.

Ask your CVS to look in their computer and tell you where they see it in stock. Get 2-3 locations from them, then call to confirm that they do indeed have it in stock. For some strange reason the computer isnt always correct. Keep repeating until you find it.

So can I ask my Onemedical PA to prescribe me Wegovy through CVS, then call around to different CVSs to see if they have it?
