James Claude as a name

My husband is obsessed with this name for our son; he has two personal heros/mentors each with one of these names.

James is fine but a little bland to me. Obviously Claude being a middle name wouldn’t get used much (phew).

JC as a nickname is cute?

Would you push back or accept?

I think realistically, this kid will be called James. I personally would probably shorten that that to Jamie, but YMMV.

I don't like it as much as a hyphenated/double first name.

He'll be called James (or Jamie or Jim) and have a middle initial C. It's fine. I don't like JC as a nickname (too Jesus Christ for me, although I guess one of the NSync guys is named JC)

That was my first thought when I saw James Claude! In my head I read it as Jean-Claude.

OP here - no hyphen! Just two names, one first, one middle.

Jean-Claude is brilliant. He's also brave and compassionate. He loves risk sports: skiing, show jumping, Formula 1. I say go with Jean-Claude, despite the fact that my friend and I used to joke about getting lessons from Jean-Claude Sexuelle, ze ski instructaire.

I'm French. Please don't use Jean-Claude. It has connotations. Claude is very nice. James is too.

I think James is a nice name. I wish I liked it a little bit more strongly, but the truth is that there aren’t really any boys names I am managing to feel strongly about! It was a lot easier with our daughter (Helena).
